Starting with today in Rome are organized a series of memorable events, a characteristic of the the Big Week.
In the first part of the day, we will visit the Vatican Museums with the famous Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Square along with the Basilica.
At 17.00 the Pope will hold a papal mess inside St. Peter’s Basilica which can be watched from the market on giant TV screens.
21.15 The Pope will lead the ROAD OF THE CROSS OR VIA CRUCIS, near the Colosseum.
This magnificent ritual procession commemorates the 14 stops of the passions of Jesus. At each stop, the Pope reads a contemplation in different languages.
Along the whole route, you will see a huge CROSS with lit candles.
This procession is a deep, unique spiritual experience during the Great Week.
Late in the evening we will arrive at the hotel for dinner and accommodation.

EASTER SUNDAY
Breakfast. Around 10:15 am we should be in St. Peter’s Square, where the Pope will celebrate the Holy Easter liturgy. At the end of this liturgy, the Pope will go out to the central loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica and will say the blessing known as “URBI ET ORBI”, “in the city and in the world”. This is done twice a month at Easter and at Christmas
In the afternoon we will stop somewhere at a restaurant and with a little luck, we will find places to serve one of the traditional Italian dishes served on Easter Day: ABBACCHIO (which is a young lamb speciality).
At the end we will taste a “Easter cake”, a bread with cheese and a common cake; “Colombo Pasquale”.
After a rich meal, we will take a walk among the thousands of pilgrims who come from all over the world, with whom I am precise that we will socialise.
